Build: Moving the Police Station back two studs
Do the LEGO modulars give you enough pavement room?
It’s been a little while since I wrote about my LEGO City/Streetscape (there’s been plenty of LEGO City news) but I thought I should talk through my build of LEGO Police Station (10278).
For those familiar with the 2021 LEGO modular set you’ll know the 3000 piece set has some wonderful Easter eggs and some great techniques. I love the street front but I do feel like there isn’t enough pavement out the front of the station.
For me I’ve written about how the Police Station will be a key part of my streetscape and how I’m using the MILS system as the base of the city.
But with this in mind I decided to move the the building back two studs to give more room. I also moved the curb out and this will be on the street / road MILS plate I’m attaching (more on this next week).
The benefit of doing this is that the Police Station has the room at the back to move it the two studs and it allows you to have more minifigure action out the front.
The challenging part is that there are some modulars such as the Brick Bank and Assembly Square Flower Store and Bakery which don’t really give you the room to move back. I’ll look at how you tackle these in the coming weeks.
Overall I think moving back the Police Station works well - let me know your thoughts. Have you moved any of your modulars back? If so which ones?
Below are some of the fun #Legostagram images I’ve done in and around the LEGO Police Station.
