LEGO Assembly Square (10255) is the oldest of the currently available LEGO modulars and has been on sale since January 2017, which is longer than its now retired successor Downtown Diner (10260) which left the shelves late last year.
But increasingly the signs are that this 10 year anniversary set is due for retirement. One reader pointed out to us that Target in Australia has just significantly reduced the price of the set taking it from its retail price of AUD $399 down to $258. Note: Target appears to have now sold out.
Could this be a sign that they are clearing their stock ahead of retirement? Possibly.
While there’s nothing on any of the LEGO sites under retirement the expectation of many is that Assembly Square would be the next to go.
Take a look at BrickEconomy which is definitely projecting it will retire by the end of the year.
Either way it’s definitely a bargain (and a much larger discount than Target Australia usually gives) for Aussie AFOLs looking to add or build out their LEGO Assembly Square modular (I definitely got one!).
Have you seen any signs of other outlets around the world clearing their stocks? Let me know.
